Rocks & Mining - Rocks at Earth Surface

Rocks made to order:
  • Every man women and child uses 10 tons of rocks a year

Water Recycles Rocks
  • Cave Popcorn - Formed on cave walls 
  • Stalactite - an icicle shaped formation which grew from the top of the roof
  • Stalagmite - formation that grew up from the floor
  • Flowstone - Deposited by water running down the wall
Rocks tell Stories
  • Each Rock has three basic and common minerals: mica, quartz, feldspar 
  • Sandstone rests on a surface, the sandstone was carried over by water or wind
  • The sand that makes up the fragments of rocks from Sandstone it comes from old rocks, which are then transported by river. After that they are mixed together with natural cement.
  • Sandstone is made of Muscovite, Orthoclase, Quartz, Plagioclase
  • Granite is a igneous rock, one that got solid by a hot state.
  • Granite is made of: Biotite, Orthoclase, Quartz, Plagioclase
